Tuskegee’s New Dress Code Says Wake Up and Get Dressed
Tuskegee University’s new dress code is not an attack on Black culture—it is a reminder that bonnets, do-rags, pajamas and bedroom slippers belong in the preparation, not the presentation. By tightening standards for classrooms, dining spaces and professional events, the university is telling students to wake up, wash up and show up like they actually meant to leave the house. Honestly, more institutions should do the same.
